16,68 M 8el OWA 12,7 dBI

For: Dx portion 11 meter band LIONEL

SUPER BOWL VERSION

Antenna Type: Yagi-Uda (owa)
Designed by: HPSD version 1.00 MAY 2013

This antenna was designed to handle power. Expected handling capability is above 50 Kw.
Please isolate all element in such a way they are isolated against a couple thousand KV’s and rouglhy 50 amps. The stability of the antenna speaks for it self.

A true working horse !

Boom length: 16,67 Meter
Design freq: 27.025 Mhz
Gain: 12,70 dBI
Front to Back: < 23 dB
Impedance: 50 ohms (split element) direct fed.
SWR 1:1 : 1000 Khz
SWR below 2:1 : > 2000 Khz

Above the freespace azimuth plot.

Above the “freespace” elevation plot.

Below the predicted SWR. 50 ohms direct impedance

Dimensions:

All elements are made out of 1 inch and 7/8 inch aluminium tubing.
The center piece of 1 inch is 2 meters long. At the end 7/8 tubing needs to be inserted to make up for the full element length….

DO NOT CHANGE DIAMETERS OR LENGTH
LENGTH:

Reflector length = 5.603 M
Radiator length = 5.393 M
Director 1 length = 5,053 M
Director 2 length = 5,053 M
Director 3 length = 4,996 M
Director 4 length = 4,860 M
Director 5 length = 4,921 M
Director 6 length =  4,637 M

DISTANCES:
Reflector to radiator = 1,235 M
Reflector to director 1= 1,83 M
Reflector to director 2= 3,864 M
Reflector to director 3= 6,304 M
Reflector to director 4= 10,015 M
Reflector to director 5 = 13,42 M
Reflector to director 6 = 16,675 M

Yes Director 5 is longer then director 4 !

Feeding the antenna:

The antenna is 50 ohms.
The radiator (and preferbly all elements)  need to be isolated from the boom. The radiator
Can be split in half and be “direct” fed.
With this said…a 1:1 balun or RF choke is adviced.
